Joan Wicks – Pathologist – Founding Partner
Dr. Wicks directs all activities of the Investigative Pathology division, which includes a variety of specialized pathology studies such as tumor models, animal models of human disease, mechanistic studies to clarify significance of compound-induced morphological changes and studies in support of drug discovery projects. In addition, she oversees and serves as study director for Alizée Pathology’s tissue cross-reactivity studies. She evaluates gross, microscopic, and ultrastructural changes as well as clinical pathology findings in pre-clinical animal studies.
Dr. Wicks received her DVM from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. She received her pathology training and PhD in Experimental Pathology from The Ohio State University. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathology. Since completing her PhD, she has worked in both the pharmaceutical research and CRO settings. She has extensive experience serving as a study director and also as a study pathologist for tissue cross-reactivity studies.
Dr. Wicks is active in several professional societies, including the American College of Veterinary Pathologists, Society of Toxicologic Pathology and the Charles L. Davis Foundation.
